Responsible Reform was a report put together by literally thousands. If you helped in ANY way, no matter how small, please leave a comment below starting
"I AM SPARTACUS AND I.........
You might have donated £5 to our fund, perhaps you always RTd our articles. Some will have stuffed envelopes, others wrote pieces. Scores of you researched, volunteers popped up from everywhere offering to do even the most obscure or mundane tasks for us.
Did you write to your MP? Email a peer? take part in one of our campaigns of send me a link to what may have ended up being vital research? Did you live tweet #teamwrb? Did you make a point of always sharing my links on Facebook?
So for tomorrow and next week when we have time to reflect, let's leave a record of exactly who made this happen and what they did
I hope we end up with hundreds of comments. xxxx
I am spartacus and I wrote a motion, blogged and stuffed envelopes.

I have terminal cancer - how much more sick & disabled do I have to be to keep this Government support?

ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I stuffed envelopes, emailed my MP, twittered, blogged. I kept two FB sites informed about campaign. Contacted ReMember charity who have written press release and passed on to Countess of Mar. I have sent press release to local paper. BUT I still haven't passed on all the best wishes and thanks, from loads of people, to Sue and everyone else involved in creating a fantastic report and campaign.

ReplyDeletehttp://news.bbc.co.uk/newswatch/ukfs/hi/newsid_3950000/newsid_3959100/3959111.stm

ReplyDeleteThank you Sue Marsh - let's continue this battle, with more voices. I'm one of them.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus... and I did the following:
1. I donated to help fund the report
2. I tweeted and Re-tweeted #spartacusreport stories on Twitter
3. I'm reposting stories on my Facebook profile
4. I'm tweeting to MP's and Celebs about this report
and...
From today, I launched my own micro-website, to discus and display my own research into the DW&P, JobCentre Plus, ATOS in how they effect people, like me with long-term disability's.... find it here:
http://dwpstories.blogspot.com/
and watch this space, as I have more stories to post on this blog, about the DW&P and the UK's Government. There's more SAD news I'm afraid.
But together, we might just kick the DW&P (and other department's..) butts.
i am spartacus and i sent a cheque received from my 88 year old friend who has leukaemia, fibromyalgia and had just fallen and broken her ribs. she still managed to get someone to post it to me. she is spartacus!
ReplyDeletei am spartacus and i provided chocolate and sympathy for my friend who was exhausted trying to work on this report.

ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated to the fund, acted as Sue's part-time PA, collated email addresses (in an admittedly chaotic fashion...) and stuffed envelopes. Thank you to everyone was what they have done. x

ReplyDeleteTo ALL of you......Keep up the great work, you are ALL an inspiration :-)
I am spartacus and I proof-read the report - twice!
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I wrote to my MP and engaged in online debate on the Guardian's website on all matters to do with Disability benefits, in the face of many objectionable comments from our enemies.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I commented on this to newspapers, responded to the consultation, wrote to my elected representative, wrote on Facebook and now I've blogged as well. Constructive comments will be welcomed: Battling the government's benefits lies - with Boris!
ReplyDeletehttp://wp.me/p262ZD-1l
I am Spartacus: my carer took me to a demo; I have been posting comments/likes on my f/b page and on newspapers pages dealing with the issues; I wrote to the Equality & Human Rights Commission about press coverage & hate crimes - they said they are not interested but would not tell me who to contact to complain about them. I shall keep going as long as I am able. Thanks to you all! %)
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I am just very, very proud of you all.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I wrote a blog post about the report and emailed my MP with a copy.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus. I can't tell you how grateful I am that you did this for all of us. My life has been hell since they cut my DLA.

ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus, Autistic.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus.
ReplyDeleteI am a carer who is keeping a blog on what milder disability means as government plans to make wrongful cuts.My daughter who has turner syndrome mild disability and still needs much support. I have tweeted and blogged and posted on facebook and tried to keep everyone informed. I also placed the links on Princes Trust for Carers. I had been in touch with my MP previously but his lack of support disabled was none. I didn't send him this report as he showed me he didn't care and was unapproachable.
Thank you. Some wonderful work.....
http://carersfeelings.blogspot.com/2012/01/i-am-spartacus-and-i.html
I am Spartacus, I have Aids, chronic lung disease, body wasting and am terrified about my future...but I donated my Christmas bonus, wrote to as many peers as I could, wrote to my MP and sent a copy of the report today. Thank you Sue and your helpers...YOU ARE MY HEROES !
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I gave to the fund, sent supportive emails, and emailed 88 peers. (Have yet to learn about twitter and Facebook.) Totally exhausted now. Love to you all, Peta
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus, I suffer from severe ME, hyermobility syndrome, borderline personality disorder and a host of other co-morbid chronic conditions. I use my Facebook and twitter to post and repost for the cause, I (try to) educate those in my (limited/non-disabled) social circle. I have contacted disabled advocacy services such as CAB and many charities. I try to correct the misinformation circulated about the proposals by the media and politicians. I badger the Minister against disabled people- Maria Miller everytime she shows yet further ignorance. I take time to thatnk those celebrities/people with clout that support us.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and for the first time today I have a little bit of hope.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I gave to the fund, sent the report and press release to my MP as a constituency rep, and commented in the Guardian on the report. Well done Sue, Kaliya and everybody else who has put so much into this.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus. I saw the message on the right side of this blog suggesting that Jon Snow may be talking about the report on his news programme. The trouble is that unless you get featured on a rolling news service like Sky or BBC News 24 on "Normal" tv nost of the news programmes are full of soundbites and very little detail.
ReplyDeleteSo unless you get on Newsnight or a programme that gives a longer amount of time to some stories there are not many places you can turn to.
Radio probably works best and I suppose Radio 4 and Radio 5 are the places to go. After the terrible documentary John Humphries did on TV on the benefit system I wonder how he would treat the report if he's on duty and it gets a mention on the Today programme.
I am Spartacus and I donated to the research fund, emailed my MP and sent a hard copy of the report by post. I'm still tweeting links to the report and RTing responses to it as well as bugging various journalists and news agencies to cover the story by sending them copies of the press release.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I RT'd these tweets, spread this article out to as many people as poss through my online outlets, and wrote to my local MP. I am planning to do much much more too.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus,I have tweeted, blogged and facebooked and I donated my DWP christmas bonus to the fund.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I made a donation, and have been tweeting about the report on personal and work accounts. Awesome work, thanks to all who made it happen.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I have emailed my mp,retweeted the report as much as possible and linked as much as I can.I do this for all of you and my son who having been ill for 6 years has been denied DLA renewal as they are not 'satisfied' he will be ill for the next 6 months. Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best of luck.
I am Spartacus. I am part of #teamwrb-live tweeting the welfare reform bill debates. I emailed lords & was a constituency rep.
ReplyDeletebendyleopard (Lex)
I am Spartacus and I emailed my MP, tweeted & retweeted all day & pestered the BBC and other news sites. I did it for my Godson and his wonderful mother and for all the other families I have worked with, may you be given the care and support you so deserve xxx
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus and I tweeted and blogged it. Brilliant piece of work, all involved should be very proud.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated my DWP xmas bonus to research fund, occasionally linked to this blog on my blog, RT'd a few things, shared report on facebook and emailed my MP.
ReplyDeleteThank you Spartacus
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I have severe M.E that currently has me housebound. I have blogged my story, badgered my MP publicly, RT'd articles, dug out info, and given my support any way I could.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus. I e mailed my MP, signed the petition and pestered people with lots of followers on Twitter (to greater and lesser extents!). I have M.E. and do not receive any benefits, I work from home as much as I can and have been waiting on a DLA appeal for nearly 2 years. By the time they look at it, it won't exist.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated my DWP Christmas Bonus to the Research Fund, as did my husband. I always share Diary of a Benefit Scrounger on Facebook and I have regularly emailed all my contacts asking for donations or signatures on petitions. I regularly write to my MP on this subject - usually only to receive a pretty tetchy stock response.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I have emailed my MP as a contituency rep and am currently Tweeting/retweeting and generally badgering people like theres a firecracker up my backside!
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus, and I found contact names, emails, and websites. Itweeted and RTd, educated real life people where I could, and I'm a constituency rep, so I sent the report to my MP this morning.
ReplyDeleteMy fiance is Spartacus. He cooked, cleaned, washed up and entertained himself while I tried to do stuff for this. He looked after me when I wore myself out.
I'm Spartacus and I have been posting this link and others all day on my FB Page, I have emailed my MP and also posted a link to the report on a Rugby League Fans message board to get the message across. Thanks to everyone who made this possible, lets hope we make a difference.
ReplyDeletei am spartacus and i looked up references and quotes for the report online
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I complained to the Press Association about the appalling and inaccurate portrayal of sick and disabled people in the Press
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus and I emailed David Cameron and Nick Clegg about my deep concerns - 3 times - they didn't respond
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus and i wrote to a Baroness, emailed a tv programme and talked to a charity
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated some money, wrote to my MP, several Lords and tweeted and retweeted.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus, I responded to the consultation, wrote to my MP & told some other people about it.
ReplyDeleteToday I posted links to people.
Later in the week I write to MP again.
I am Spartacus. I responded to the consultation, emailed my MP and I always post links to the articles.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I took a risk and posted on my facebook
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I have shared links on Twitter and have also emailed my MP.
ReplyDeleteI'm Spartacus and I've re-tweeted and mentioned on Facebook. I will try and give my MP a print out/bound copy of the report by the end of the week as she obviously doesn't read my emails.
ReplyDeleteWill the DWP sanction me for being Spartacus ?
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I've tweeted, emailed and hassled as many people I can to raise awareness of this great cause that deserves the highest of recognition.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus & I donated, tweeted, emailed my MP & distributed copies of the report at local Council meeting
ReplyDeleteHave contacted my Tory MP Peter Lilly.
ReplyDeleteSent out tweets via my political animal lobby, I was creative with the wording to cover both aspect. Reposted links to the Guridian Article with questions to why are other news media not covering the news report to: Sky, ITV, Independnet and tied with the BBC.
I see the report as just the start, please do follow the advice the TUC gave an pick a Crossbencher or Lib Dem Lord to send a letter to saying why they must not allow the Welfare Bill to go through highlighting the report.
You can do as many Lords as you like but do it quick as time is running.
I am Spartacus and I shared stories on Facebook and explained to anyone who'd listen just how the disastrous the proposed reforms are.

I am spartacus and I took things for the report to the post office for my neighbour who is chronically ill and housebound.
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus and I thought of the title
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated a little money to support the publishing of the Responsible Reform report and also tweeted and mailed my MP. I am just about to contact some peers and I would like to draw attention to the easiest/quickest way to post to them:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.theyworkforyou.com/peers/
This very good site has email addresses whereas the LibDem site only has postal addresses.
Finally, I would like to send a huge thank you to Sue and all those who have helped her put the report together & also to Left Foot Forward who made it possible for the report to be delivered by hand.
i am spartacus and i sat up all night to brainstorm and made about 40 phonecalls.
ReplyDeletei am spartacus and I listened to my friend cry for an hour because she's so scared about losing the support she vitally needs
ReplyDeleteI am not Spartacus. I am a very naughty boy.
ReplyDeleteI am cancelling my licence fee to the BBC for being a corrupt government mouthpiece, and ignoring the biggest trending story all day.
I am spartacus and today I have sent 70 tweets and personal messages, emailed members of the Lords, MPs, members of the Socialist Health Assoc and the Fabians. I have also written several lobbying pieces on the needs and contributions of the disabled. I also organised a discussion for my CLP led by Disability Alliance and the local Disability Coalition. Disability can happen to anyone at any time - we should not be swept aside!
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus (on my mum's behalf) and twittered.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I have been Tweeting reasons why I support #spartacusreport all day. I also published a #spartacusreport limerick on Twitter earlier.
ReplyDeleteFor those who missed it...
When we first Tweeted #spartacusreport,
No-one would ever have thought,
It would Top Trend all day,
And fill Timelines - but Hey!
Never sell Disabled people short!
Also sent the report to my local MP for Bradford South, tweeted charities including TargetMD to gain their support for the cause.
It's been a great day! Shame the TV media are too frightened to cover it.
I am spartacus and I sent tweets to all the House of Lords members on twitter, emailed my local MP, tweeted for an hour in the afternoon of 9/1/12 & tried to raise awareness with local media after national media failed to report on the issue.
ReplyDeleteI did this because I have M.S and currently receive DLA, I am in the process of loosing my job due to my disability. I want to work, but am unable to work full-time. As long as I am in receipt of DLA I can look for a part time job and afford to remain in work, if DLA is stopped, I would be on full out of work benefits, becoming isolated and unhappy and probably more of a burden on the health system.
I am Spartacus and I had tweeted, Facebooked and emailed my MP. I will continue to do so until people listen and realise that this could be them. I only wish I could do more. What you are doing is amazing and I can only hope that your hard work and dedication will be rewarded with the right outcome.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated, also shared everything I could for the last few months via social media. Wish I could have done more but my mental illness severely limits the amount I can do.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and tomorrow is going to seem very quiet.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus, I emailed Lords and RTed and Facebooked as much as I could. Sue and #teamwrb are utter utter heroes xxx
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I re-teeted, shared on Facebook and shouted at Maria Miller on the radio. I am sorry that I did not do more.
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus, I tweeted, I RTd, I donated, I emailed politicians, I campaigned along with hundreds. Go #teamwrb!
ReplyDeleteMy MP, Sheila Gilmore, supporter of #HardestHit will be reading the full report on her train to London tomorrow. She has supported me in my dealings with ATOS & the DWP. She's on our side.
I am Spartacus. I donated, emailed my MP and tweeted.
ReplyDeleteHow about an 'It could happen to you!' lottery type ad. There are a lot of great people out there listening, but there are also plenty who will only care if they think it may affect them.
I am Spartacus, and I wrote to my MP and circulated the report to everyone I knew - including in the NHS and health professionals.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus, circulated to MP, local councillors, Bishops in the Lords and delighted to have contributed financially to this excellence.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I tweeted, donated and found a few addresses. I'm lucky enough not to need DLA due to recovery from a chronic illness after four years - recovery due at least in part to receiving incapacity benefit for some of that period - support I wouldn't be able to access if I fell ill now due to the changes made/proposed to ESA. My recovery also depended on plenty of rest and avoiding stress and would quite probably have been worsened by the stress current claimants are experiencing. As it is I'm now able to (and do) work - proof perhaps that we need a system that supports not punishes sick and disabled people.
ReplyDeleteI am Sparticus. I donated to the fund, I tweeted whenever I could @edwinmandella; e-mailed my MP (TRH Theresa May MP); asked Joey Barton, Stephen Fry, Jimmy Carr, Lord Sugar, Al Gore, Ricky Gervais, etc to retweet the call to battle and the link for the reports; I am scared and ready to fight!
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus..i have spinal instability, with disc problems, congenital problems, cronic severe Fybromyalga, joint hypermobility and osteoarthritis. now aged 35. I am currently battling to get back my DLA after it was taken from me in may 2011.. but i'm still fighting.
ReplyDeletei am spartacus and i contacted journalists, responded to newspaper articles online and went on the Hardest Hit march.
ReplyDeletei am spartacus and i collected my brothers pain meds so he could carry on
ReplyDeleteI AM SPARTACUS
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8h_v_our_Q
i am spartacus and i took care of kids, made meals and tea so my other half could write a blog about what's happening.
ReplyDeletei'm spartacus and i wrecked my already poor health to do this campaign. why? because no-one else will do it for us.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I tweeted and retweeted, posted on Facebook and asked other US folks to join you in solidarity.
ReplyDeletei am spartacus and i watched the WRB on Parliament tv to find out what they are planning, and as you may know, listening to the hypnotic droning of Lord Fraud is no mean feat, especially when he keeps saying ... I don't have the details to hand...
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus and I donated, tweeted and retweeted and reposted Sue and Kaliya's blogs on Facebook and emailed my MP. Val
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I'm not fit for work. sorry bout that Ms Miller!
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I emailed my MP and tweeted. However my contribution was nothing compared to the real heroes who got this going.
ReplyDeletei am spartacus and i wrote to my mp 6 times. It took me days to type each letter because of exhaustion and pain and it exacerbated all my symptoms. He just sent stock replies back.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus - I tweeted links, emailed my MP, posted on facebook and other internet communities.
ReplyDeleteI receive DLA - I am 31 and have a combination of health problems that result in me now being unable to care for myself much, nor walk meaningfully outdoors (I shuffle about round the house and from house to car with a stick). DLA means I can still work part time, I am self employed because the UK benefits system has NEVER supported me with my mental health problems - I had to find ways round that myself with no help.
DLA means I have independance and can be a useful, productive member of society. Without it I am housebound and no use to anyone, let alone myself.
I am Sparticus and I took part in the consultation, regularly post and repost links and blogs on my profile and in groups on facebook, I have emailed Lords and bombarded my MP regardless of her replies and have written to the BBC to complain about distortion of facts on programmes about welfare benefits particularly disability benefits
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus i took part in many groups posting links, twitter, emailing mp's and facebook, and bombardered anyone who would listen i am proud to be part of this
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I donated, tweeted, Facebooked, G+d, emailed my MP and signed the petition (as did my partner).
ReplyDeleteI have good health at the moment, work and pay taxes. I fully expect my taxes to be spent on supporting the health and wellbeing of all those who need it. I am more than disappointed that our governing parties have left such a basic principal behind.
I am a Sparatacus @WLPeople1st we tweeted and retweeted, emailed all the Wigan Mp's Andy Burnham, Lisa Nandy & Yvonne Fovargue and posted it on our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/wiganandleighpeoplefirst. Generally went on and on about it to anyone we spoke to today, managed to sneak it into the agenda of a meeting at our local involvement network this morning as well
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus - I emailed my MP and some peers, and tweeted and RT'd the heck out of this thing.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I . . urh . . gave a fiver, rebroadcast some links, wrote to a Lord, my MP and wrote a few blog articles.
ReplyDeleteWell done Sue. And everyone else who contributed to the report. You've done a great job.
i am Spataus- i spamed facebook and bombardered anyone who would listen too and ive signed partitions,.
ReplyDeleteMy constituency MP and his helpers are not amused by my challenging them about how this government, similar to the previous one, are treating disabled people.
ReplyDeleteThey have given full licence to all and sundry to vilify disabled people never mind the changes made in legislation. They have created a culture where abuse of disabled people is acceptable.
This is tantamount to ethnic cleansing. My MP used to be the opposition MP for disabled people - funny that!
Well done with this report. My concern is will it have any impact? My thoughts are that it won't. In a country where corruption is the only route to the top disabled people have a lot to learn .....
I'm Spatacus and if I hadn't run out of space on my memory card my I'm Spartacus video may have droned on too long...
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I'm a constituency rep, I posted on my blog and have written to peers in the house of lords.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Sue and everyone who helped with the report and other activities, a great triumph of achievement more particularly so considering the obstacles of illness and disability. Whatever the outcome at least we have had a voice and we have done the best we can
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” ~ Margaret Mead
Best wishes to everyone
Christine
I'm Spartacus and I have sent my MP a copy of the report via TheyWorkForYou.com because he doesn't publicise an email address, multiple posted about the report on Twitter and Facebook, added a link to the report on my blog frontpage and written a short post with link on Notts Indymedia.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to everyone for getting the report together.
I have sent the report to my MP, tweeted about it several times, (and RTd others), mentioned it on Facebook and other sites that I post on. I've also forwarded it to a friend who always reads the Daily Mail! I am Spartacus!
ReplyDeleteI am spartacus and I emailed the links to my MP and shared the links on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteI feel that this situation has worsened things. The pressure on claimants is so overwhelming and some of us are unable to cope!
ReplyDeleteAnd we're still going! Well done, Spartacus!
ReplyDeleteSigned...er...Spartacus!
I am Spartacus and I am exposing the Work Programme for the scam that it is. We are defined by our humanity not by our greed.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and i mailed lords, Mp's even got my daughter involved in spreading the word.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and have retweeted and Facebooked this article. I fear for all the people who have suffered and will suffer under this atrocity.
ReplyDeleteI am Spartacus and I'm mad as hell!
ReplyDeleteI'm Spartacus and I help the local Hands off our Homes campaign. Not affected by the Bedroom Tax myself but it really angers me to see so many desparate, scared people suffering so badly, many of them disabled themselves or with disabled relatives they are caring for.
ReplyDeleteThe petition is great but we need a way to get together in reality not just in the ether here.
Calling for regional and national meetings is I hope one idea you or someone else out there will take up.
We need to be able to see each other and stand literally shoulder to shoulder. It's the only way that the TV etc. will actually see us. At the moment, apart from the odd demo, we don't exist in the world of TV.
The Poll Tax was brought down because it was visible.
I'm Spartacus and proud of it.
I am Spartacus, after IDS emailed me for tory support, i wrote a damning mail to him about the WCA and PIP, treatment for the disabled, saying its a national disgrace, funny thing i have not heard back from him!
ReplyDeleteDid you live tweet #teamwrb? Did you make a point of always sharing my links on Facebook? order cheques
ReplyDelete
