Benefit Uprating Bill - Today!

As most of you will know, I'm desperately unwell at the moment.

Today, parliament will be sitting to hear the second reading of the Benefit Uprating Bill. You can watch live here from 11am : http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=12161 (Once other business dealt with, probably nearer to 12.30)

If any of you want to follow the debate on Twitter, I propose we use the hashtag #BUB

I've asked for volunteers to take over my twitter account for a while, as I get so much traffic and RTs it really does help to spread awareness far and wide.

It seems Labour will be supporting us. The language may not be ideal, but they are taking a big chance on us, risking a mauling from the right wing press as supporters of "lazy scroungers" I believe it means the "worm has turned" On welfare, Labour seem to have decided that supporting us could be a vote winner rather than a vote loser & I want to do everything I can to prove them right.

So, my warrior friends, once more unto the breach. Spread the truth, challenge the lies and shine a light onto their proceedings they would rather stayed obscured.

**Do RT or share this short bulletin to help spread the word. Many thanks

  1. Look after yourself Sue, thanks for all your efforts xx

  2. It's a shame it has taken so much cajoling to get them to speak the truth, but so glad your efforts have not been ignored.

  3. My thoughts are with you and I too thank you for writing you blog so well - I am also disabled and am due to go into hospital tomorrow to have my leg amputated the next day. I am suffering from various ailments as well as this one.
It helps knowing that I am not alone with this hell we are all going through with this government! We have to do what we can to be noticed and get as many people, politicians and others to back us. We need the able bodied to side with us, after all, in a heartbeat they could be us!

  4. All the best to the bravest woman in the world.

  5. I praise some of your campaigning work Sue but I think your sentiments regarding the Labour Party are totally laughable?

Labour taking a chance on us? Isn't us who are taking a chance on them?

Liam Byrne today said they should of reformed IB much sooner, reform it in what way?

Do they mean pay Atos more money to deny disabled people their rightful entitlement to benefits, increase poverty?

Sorry Sue I think your judgement on this one is very misguided?

  6. Such an informative post and best describe all the things thanks for share with it.
